From a conversation to a signed agreement.

Prepare agreement details, check who still needs to sign, and review signer reminders from Gmail™. Finish reviewing and sending the document in Attest.

Install from Google Workspace™ Marketplace

Attest for Gmail is coming to Google Workspace Marketplace, where you install it in Gmail with one click. This page will link to the listing as soon as it’s live.

Prepare once. Review before sending.

Step 1

Start with an email

Open Attest in Gmail and choose Use email details. The subject and visible addresses become editable suggestions. Choose exactly who should sign.

Step 2

Prepare the agreement

Review the title, signers, and optional note. Prepare in Attest saves a private form for your account. Nothing is emailed at this step.

Step 3

Review and send in Attest

Open the prepared form, attach the PDF, and review the document and recipients. Your browser encrypts the document before uploading it. Each signer uses their own passkey.

Keep track from your inbox

Browse your agreements, see signing progress and pending signers, and open their signing records in Attest. Reminders show a confirmation first; only the sender can send them, with Attest’s existing signing-order and reminder limits.

A focused connection

Google grants temporary access to the open email’s metadata. The add-on reads the subject and visible From, To, and Cc addresses only when you choose to use them. It does not read the email body, attachments, or Bcc addresses.

Before you connect

Which account does it use?

You sign in to Attest and approve the connection yourself. Your Gmail and Attest addresses can differ. The add-on shows the connected Attest address when record-reading permission is granted. The prepared form opens only for that Attest account.

The sidebar still says Connect after I connected

Close the authorization tab and return to Gmail. If the sidebar has not updated, choose Refresh Attest on the connection card or in the add-on’s three-dot menu. It reloads the current connection without starting sign-in again.

Google shows a Drive error when I connect

Google documents a limitation with add-ons when several Google accounts share a browser session. Try a fresh connection from Gmail in a separate Chrome profile or Incognito window signed into only your Gmail account. Start with Connect Attest again; an old failed return link can expire. Your Attest address can still differ from your Gmail address. Google’s troubleshooting guide

Why do I attach the PDF in Attest?

Gmail add-on actions run on Google’s servers. Keeping the PDF in Attest’s browser flow preserves browser encryption and keeps document contents out of the add-on. Save the PDF you want to use from Gmail, then attach it to the prepared form.

What does Attest receive?

Only the agreement details you submit: title, chosen signer addresses, whether you sign too, and your optional note. Gmail message IDs, Gmail access tokens, email bodies, and attachments are not sent to Attest.

What permissions does the Attest connection grant?

The add-on uses the existing Read your records and Act on your records permissions. Those permissions cover additional connector actions, including receipts and proof links; the Gmail add-on itself offers agreement preparation, agreement status, and signer reminders. Review the consent page before approving.

How do I disconnect?

Choose Disconnect Attest in the add-on, or open Security → Connected apps in Attest and disconnect Attest for Gmail. Disconnecting ends its account access; it does not delete your agreements. You can separately uninstall the add-on in Google Workspace.
